Replacing Computer Fans

I recently had an overheating problem that caused the computer to crash after a few minutes. The solution from the computer vendor was for me to purchase a $75 dollar power supply. The power supply was fine; it was the fan that was the problem. I looked online and found a number of places that sold just the fan. I opened the power supply case -- be care because the capacitors can still store electricity after the unit has been unplugged. I was happy to find that the fan was plugged into the case for power. I did some measuring of the fan's size and looked at the number of pins. With that information, I found a replacement fan for $4.00 plus $2.95 shipping. One of the parts vendors I found was directron.com. There are many other sites, but I like their system for quickly finding the right fan.
